The university botanical garden is the largest in Israel. It covers one hundred and twenty dunams of green, blooming, breathing, and diverse vegetation in the heart of Jerusalem, near the Givat Ram campus of the Hebrew University

The place where plants grow people

The University Botanical Garden at Givat Ram is a gem of nature in the heart of Jerusalem. The garden serves as an educational and research center and contains a diverse collection of plants from around the world in a geographical display.

Over 7,000 different plant species and varieties from around the world make up the University Botanical Garden at Givat Ram, Jerusalem. It is the largest botanical garden in Israel, spanning 150 dunams. The collection of living plants in the garden is the largest in the Middle East, and is spread across six geographical sections: Southern Africa, Europe, North America, Australia, South-West and Central Asia, and the Mediterranean. The garden's sections simulate the plant landscapes of each region and display spectacular blooms throughout the year. Alongside them, the garden features a tropical greenhouse and a desert greenhouse, which create a space that simulates their respective specific climates, containing plants that grow in such habitats in nature.
