The Jerusalem International YMCA reigns in glory, at over 80 years old and literally standing tall in its own right architecturally, especially with the juxtaposition of the exclusive King David Hotel just facing across the street.

The YMCA hosts an exciting selection of cultural activities, such as theater, music performances, art exhibitions and classes, with the aim of bridging the gap between east and west Jerusalem, Arabs and Jews. Though some events are explicitly aimed at creating dialog, others simply provide a way for people to come together and share common interests.

Tourists and locals can take advantage of the YMCA’s multi-faceted gym, exercise classes (run in English), and swimming pool.  Families here for the summer often send children to the YMCA’s top-notch day camp, and those here for longer stays might be interested in the Arab-Jewish preschool. The complex also houses the Three Arches Hotel and Restaurant.

Just to be clear, I did not stay here - I just went up the tower to see the views from there. At 20 shekels per person, about £5 each, its not worth it. A badly kept part of the building, and really only 1 side has a dec...
