During the month of Elul, the sounds of prayer and Selichot are heard from synagogues and courtyards throughout the Jerusalem neighborhoods and especially the Haredi neighborhoods, and this is the time to experience and absorb this special atmosphere that envelops the city only once a year.
According to Jewish tradition, repentance has several components that must be fulfilled in order to merit a favorable judgment on Rosh Hashanah. From the prayer book, the winning recipe is: "Repentance, prayer, and charity avert the severity of the decree." Our Selichot tour is built especially around these motifs and follows the three components of repentance in an experiential way through the mysterious and picturesque alleys of Jerusalem. During the tour we will pass by important points of interest and hidden corners unfamiliar to most people. The tour is guided by experts and licensed guides specializing in Jerusalem.
