This new exhibition, opened at the Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein National Campus for the Archaeology of Israel in Jerusalem, presents the extraordinary involvement of the Israel Antiquities Authority at the scene of a modern-day disaster — this time, not to uncover relics of the distant past, but to assist in the search for missing persons in charred homes and sites in the communities of the Gaza Envelop.
Through unprecedented documentation of the events of that horrific day, the exhibition invites visitors on a journey etched in memory and heart: from shock and loss, through painful reflection, to a glimmer of hope for renewal rising from the destruction.
The multi-layered use of audio-visual media, narration, and vivid interactive displays allows the visitor to experience the story not merely as a testimony, but as a personal and collective journey of documentation and remembrance.
The exhibition visit is intended for adults and conducted in groups only, accompanied by professional and sensitive guidance.
