The American Colony Hotel is a 5-star luxury boutique hotel, which has been operating for 120 years, and is proud to be one of the best and most loved hotels in Israel and the world - and without a doubt one of the recommended places to stay in Jerusalem.

The hotel’s main building was built in 1860 as the palace of a local pasha. Over the years, it was purchased by immigrants from Chicago, who began hosting pilgrims from abroad there in 1902. Over time, the American Colony became a popular hotel thanks to its historic atmosphere, authenticity, and one-of-a-kind hospitality experience. The hotel even features a historic archive/museum where you can take a look and discover its rich history. The hotel is located just a short walk from the Old City and near the light rail station, making it easy to get around and reach the city’s sites, attractions, restaurants, shopping centers, and nightlife.

    I absolutely loved it. Even though it was in East Jerusalem, I felt very safe walking to the old city. The people there were just so wonderful to us and the food was great. The room that they gave us was absolutely gorgeous
